Expertise

The Mobile Communication Research Group has been involved in many EU FP5&6 projects such as STRIKE, MATRICE, 4MORE, WINNER1-2, E2R, and FIREWORKS and also has been involved in national Mobile VCE projects such as Core 4 "Efficiency" program. The group has also extensive collaboration with mobile industries in Europe, Japan on mobile WiMax, 3G and beyond 3G systems. Through participation in these projects extensive experience has been achieved in advanced physical layer techniques, radio resource management, interference management, and dynamic spectrum sharing areas. Advanced physical layer techniques such as advanced coding and modulation, MIMO, cooperative transmission techniques, channel estimation, synchronization, advanced receiver architectures and iterative detection schemes, novel Low Density Signature CDMA concept, and OFDM, OFDMA, MC-CDMA air interfaces are under investigation, evaluation and optimization. New advanced radio resource managements capturing cross-layer issues have been proposed and evaluated.
