Main tasks attributed in the project

WP0: Technical manager.
WP1: Scenario definition, simulation methodology and system requirements. Present standard contribution and be active in dissemination.
WP2: In 2A1, contribute to the channelization trade-offs for different links in cooperative relaying and to scattered multi-band operation for cooperative relaying. In 2A2, contribute to study of opportunistic spectrum usage and coexistence with different standard (radar or satellite) systems as well as secondary systems.
WP3: In 3A1, work on advanced D&F and C&F for single-user MIMO transmission exploitation of CSI in cooperative relaying. In 3A2, work on the MARC and perform associated system-level assessment. In 3A3, work on multi-BS cooperation in UL and DL, and cooperating BS subset selection. WP Leader.
WP4: In 4A1, perform a comparative assessment of coordination of antenna patterns vs. BS cooperation as envisioned in WP3 and provide evaluation at system level.
WP5: In 5A1, studies on protocol enhancing MAC efficiency in the framework of delay stringent application. In 5A2, studies on adaptive algorithms under QoS constraints.

Expertise

Motorola was involved in more than ten projects from the first call of FP5 (BROADWAY, UCAN, TRUST...) Motorola regularly collaborates with operators, manufacturers, and universities in the framework of IST/French funded projects, as well as through peer-to-peer collaborations, and has always been active in standardization bodies and industrial forum such as ETSI, 3GPP, BRAN, IEEE 802.11/16/... P1900, IETF, ITU-R.... Motorola is leading EU FP6 E2RI/E2RII and contributing to several other FP6 projects (DAIDALOS, WINNERI/II, PULSERS, FIREWORKS...). As such, Motorola has expertise in technical leadership. Besides several fields of expertise are relevant to ROCKET's scope:

Cooperative radio access technologies, including MU-MIMO, relaying, multi-carriers, etc...
Design of system architecture and protocols, performance analysis.
Network planning and optimization, QoS, mobility management and routing.
Radio resource management (resource allocation, link adaptation, power control).
System and link level prototype/simulator implementations.
