Main tasks attributed in the project Main tasks attributed in the projectDUNE will be involved in WP1 (Requirements and dissemination), contributing to the requirements definitions for the spatial radio multipath channel and by disseminating the achievement in workshops and publications, as well as in exploitation, by adopting the tools developed in the project and the gained expertise in improving the competitiveness of the solutions offered to its customers. In WP3 (Cooperative techniques) will complement other participants by analysing the proposed cooperation strategies for 3A1 and 3A2 (or a selected subset), also proposing different sub-optimal approaches, less demanding for computational effort or signalling requirements. A role will be played by DUNE also in WP4 (BS-RS coordination), by supporting/complementing partners involved on the Advanced Antenna Techniques (4A1) carrying on the analysis of the optimisation strategies and the relevant performance evaluation by simulation. ExpertiseThe firm gained expertise relevant to ROCKET by providing solutions and consultancy for large private customers and by participating and managing the SATURN (FP5) project regarding adaptive smart antennas comprising MIMO for UMTS and HIPERLAN/2 and participating in ROMANTIK (FP5) project, with specific involvement in UMTS-FDD-HSDPA, participating in the SURFACE (FP6) with special focus on firmware optimisation and radio front-end algorithm development and in the WINSOC project (FP6) on bio-inspired self-optimisation of wireless sensor networks, with special focus on the system simulation aspects.
